Plant Description:
Bucephalandra 'mini Catherinae' is part of the Bucephalandra genus. They are native to slow, low lit canopied streams of Borneo. Due to its unique habitat in the wild, this plant can be grown successfully submerged in the aquarium or emerged in a high humidity terrarium, paludarium or vivarium.
Bucephalandra 'mini Catherinae' is a small and compact plant that is adored because of its long, wavy, thin green leaves attached to a slim rhizome. It is important when planting that the rhizome remains unburied.
Bucephalandra 'mini Catherinae' works well when attached to hardscape such as driftwood or stones to ensure the rhizome is free of debris that may cause it to rot.
In the aquarium, Bucephalandra sometimes referred to as Buce, it is a relatively easy to care for plant that requires low to medium light and minimal fertilization or CO2 supplementation. Buce is ideal for small aquariums, nano aquariums, shrimp tanks, terrariums and paludariums.
Although this plant may be a slow grower in the aquarium, with enough time and care it will begin to flourish and even sprout small white flowers.
