Hygrophilia corymbosa or Hygrophilia Compact is part of the Hygrophilia genus. They are native to the waters in Southeast Asia. This plant does best fully submerged underwater in nutrient rich substrate.

Hygrophilia corymbosa is also known as temple plant, starhorn, or giant hygro. It is a stem plant that is adored because of its compact size and broad dark green leaves, in bright light the new leaves with become a reddish color. This plant can be planted directly into the substrate and can be easily propagated by stem cuttings.

In the aquarium, Hygrophilia corymbosa, is an easy and hardy to care of plant that only requires low light and low amounts of fertilization or CO2 supplementation for best and bright coloration. Hygrophilia Compact can be used in both large and small aquarium set ups.

This plant is a moderate grower, trimming and pruning keeps it in its best health and shape.
