Plant Description:
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis or Micro Sword is a small, green, grass-like plant found in South America.
In the aquarium, Micro Sword is commonly used as a carpeting plant, to create a lush lawn like appearance. This versatile plant can also be used in garden ponds and even in brackish water aquariums as it tolerates low salt levels. This plant does best when planted directly into the substrate; it can be easily propagated by new plantlets and lateral runners.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is adored because of its grass-like appearance and carpeting growth pattern used to create a thick underwater lawn. Under high intensity light and nutrients, they will grow more compact and create a thick carpet of plants in the foreground. This plant is easy to care for and requires medium to high light and moderate fertilization and CO2 supplementation. Micro Sword is ideal for small or nano-aquariums.
Although this plant may be a slow grower in the aquarium, with enough time and care it will begin to flourish and spread in no time!
