Plant Description:
'Monosolenium tenerum' is a type of semi-aquatic liverwort. They are native to moist shaded nutrient rich areas throughout tropical areas in Asia. Due to its unique habitat in the wild, this plant can be grown successfully submerged in the aquarium, or emerged in a high humidity terrarium, paludarium, or vivarium.
Monosolenium tenerum is a unique addition to the aquarium; it forms soft cushions with forking branches. This liverwort works well when attached rock or wood to soften up hardscape.
In the aquarium, 'Monosolenium tenerum' was previously identified as Pellia endiviidolia and is often confused as Suesswassertang; it is a relatively easy to care for plant that requires low to medium light and minimal fertilization or CO2 supplementation. Liverworts are ideal for small aquariums, nano aquariums, shrimp tanks, terrariums, and paludariums.
Although this plant may be a slow grower in the aquarium, with enough time and care it will begin to flourish and spread.
